Hello and welcome!
Work by : Guan Xin Ze Luan’s Love Like The Galaxy
This time-travel novel follows the journey of Yu Cai Ling, a modern university student who is reincarnated into the body of 13-year-old Cheng Shaoshang, a young lady living in ancient China. Thrust into a world governed by strict customs, etiquette, and historical traditions, Shaoshang must rely on her sharp instincts and adaptability to survive. Her modern sensibilities often clash with the ancient ways, leading to unique and sometimes humorous situations.
Readers will find a rich tapestry of historical figures, ancient sayings, and customs woven throughout the story. The novel delves deeply into the intricacies of ancient Chinese etiquette, offering a fascinating glimpse into the culture of the time. It's important to note that while the novel was translated, some nuances may have been lost in the process, which could slightly alter the reader’s experience of the cultural and linguistic elements.
Expect a slow-burn romance—the male lead doesn’t even speak until the 34th chapter, and it's not even directed at Shaoshang! The pacing of the relationship is much more gradual than in adaptations, like the TV drama.
Additionally, the book features a far greater number of characters, events, and intricately detailed scenes that were not fully portrayed in the show.
Be mindful that the story begins with Shaoshang at thirteen, and while she grows older throughout the novel, some readers may find the early chapters unsettling. Overall, this novel offers a layered and immersive experience for those who enjoy deep character development, historical context, and slow-burn storytelling.
